Permit Upper Mustang 2026:

The cost $50 per day and can be issued for the number of days required. Before it was $500 for 10 days and can be issued for mandatory minimum 10 days only. Now a days you can get permit for 2 days 4 days or whatever number of days is required for you. The new rule do not have mandatory minimum of 10 days.

If your trekking permit duration is exceeded an additional fee is apply USD 50. Please note that the permit is counted in days (not nights), starting and ending at Kagbeni. Also, restricted area permits are issued for individual travelers too. Before, it is issued only to more than two travelers.

Best Seasons:

Most of the population departs from Lo-Manthang on trading expedition during winter to avoid the cold it is  snowing. The trekking season is from late march until end November. The trip don’t go to extremely high elevations, but the cold, dust and unrelenting afternoon very hard windy can make less pleasant than other treks in Nepal.

Foods:

A wide variety of food options is available at accommodation and on lunch spots. While on city area the variation ranging from local to continental, Asian, and more. Can choose from different restaurant. However, it’s important to note that the taste may vary from what you’re familiar too.

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu - international airport to the hotel 30 minutes drive to hotel 1350m,

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu: -

Day 07: Explore to the Chhosar Cave and Lo-Manthang, - 1hrs drive, 21km, Altitude: 4000m

Today after breakfast will explore Namgyal gompa, sky caves of Chhoser and the SHIJA JHONG cave of Mustang dating back to over 3000 years it has been subject of excavation for archaeologists from around the world. There are other several caves near Chhoser which has been used for burial, meditation and also for living. Also till now SKY BURIAL is used in Upper Mustang which is in Chhoser villages. Day 09: Chhusang to Tatopani - 7/8hrs drive, 70km, Altitude: 2600m,

Today will drive back all the way to Tatopani following Kagbeni, Jomsom Marpha, Crossing several local village, adn edge of Kaligandaki river, and leaving Mustang region, Buddhist stupas and monasteries. Day 11: Pokhara to Kathmandu - 6/7hrs drive: 200km, altitude: 1350m,

Day 12: Final Departure - To international Airport Kathmandu.
