Cho Oyu is an accessible venture for intermediate climbers who want to climb a 8,000-meter peak. This expedition offers a great entry into the world of high altitude. Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world. This mountain is located in the heart of the Tibetan and Nepalese Himalayas and offers climbers a view of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and hundreds of other mountains. The Cho Oyu Mountaineering Campaign exposes mountaineers to the ancient culture of Tibet.

The challenge of high altitude climbing must not be underestimated, but the technical nature of the climb is moderate. The trail is made up of snow slopes with short ice and rock scrambling. We will use certain ropes for speed and safety. Sherpas will help in the climbing, loading and camp preparation of Cho Oyu in the classic Himalayan climbing style. The help of expert Sherpas (mountain guides), many of whom have guided us to Mount Everest, greatly increases our chances of success, while setting up camp and getting used to the extreme heights by going up and down in the mountain three or four times. Supplemental oxygen will be used for summit efforts and sleeping in high camps. Our itinerary has extra days built in case of bad weather and late adaptation. The relatively short time required to complete this great ascent adds to its charm.

This is a fully guided tour and climb, led by western guides who will climb the mountain with you. We are one of the few outfitters to offer this type of support and as a result, we have a high success rate and excellent safety record. It should be noted that most outfitters only offer supported treks, where a single guide facilitates the ascent but does not act as a guide during the ascent.
