Dhaulagiri summit first successful expedition was not before 1960. The sheer size of Dhaulagiri is incomparable to any other peak. It rises more than 7000 meters in central Nepal, above the Kali Gandaki valley and is 30 kilometers long, which is an impressive statistic by any measure. To this day most of the climbs are through the first ascent route known as the “normal route”. There are other climbs that have to be created from almost every direction.

On the south and west side of Dhaulagiri Massif there are 5 ridges and 2 faces. 4000m each from their esteemed base camp.
