Panch pokhari trek has two major routes: one route starts from Chautara, the headquarter of Sindhupalchowk district, and Sano Okhareni, and one from Bhotang village via Melamchi Gaun. This second route is considered to be easier and shorter.

The journey to five lakes will begin by driving about 8 to 9 hours by bus or Jeep from Kathmandu to Bhotang. passing by various villages of Tamang and other communities like Tipeni Bazaar, Dhap, Raithane, and Manekharka before arriving at Bhotang village. You will spend the first night at Bhotang, meet local people and get to know their culture and lifestyle as well. Early morning we will start the trek and get to experience a different culture in every new village. Then after long walks, going up and up you will reach Nasimpati, where you will spend your second night. There the weather will start to become a little chilly, especially during the nights. There are some steep hills on the way and to climb with caution, because sometimes it is raining and the ground will be slippery.

After Nasimpati you can explore and see different views surrounding you, and paths are filled with rocks from stairs to ground. There are rocks all over and you have to climb many stairs, but the last stair that’ll lead you to Panch Pokhari, leads to Lauri Bina which means “without a stick”. If you use the stick for support on the way to get there it is believed that you will have to leave it at the end of these stairs and reach Panch Pokhari. Is such a place close to heaven ? You see the first three lakes, and the other two are a little apart. You spend a night here. The spiritual environment will definitely give you a very peaceful sleep. There is a temple to worship and you can take a tour of the five holy lakes. The views you will see that day will be really unforgettable to us.
