Annapurna Region Trek

Khopra Trek

  • Duration: 13/16 days
  • Based on Client Reviews

Khopra Ridge Trek is a forgotten balcony of the Annapurna region.

Ranking among the best short treks, the Khopra Ridge Trek is one of the most beautiful treks in the country. Containing all of the elements of a classic trekking route like excursing to ethnic villages, encountering wildlife, panoramic views of the mountains and a beautiful landscape adorned with alpine forests and lush vegetation, the Khopra Ridge Trek is brimming with natural beauties. With an off-the-beaten-paths trekking trail in the Annapurna Region, the Khopra Ridge Trek presents remarkable views of Himalayan peaks like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Nilgiri among various others. For any hiker, Nepal is a myth and obviously the realm of trekking. Buddhist land and of high spirituality, especially known for its mountains, this kingdom is located in the heart of the Himalayas. We will discover the all-new 2015 Khopra Ridge open trek, which is a variant of the “Annapurna Balcony”.

This trek will offer you extraordinary views, a magnificent panorama of the peaks of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna (8091m) and the famous Machhapuchhare/ Kumari Mountain, regarded as the most beautiful mountain in Nepal.

We will take paths with stony steps through terraced fields, cross forests of giant rhododendrons and bamboos. We will be amazed by the bright colors of the ricefields and will stay in villages where the reception of people, their smiles will remain etched forever on you.

If Nepal is one of the most beautiful places in the world for trekking with a variety of amazing landscapes (in 30 km away go from 1000 to 8000 meters), its population is most endearing. At each meeting, we will be greeted by Namaste thrown at any wind, like prayer flags that fly and enrich the hearts of people.

Be careful, for sure you will fall in love with this kingdom!

Spirit of stay
This trip-hike takes us to these places where the population organizes and conceives life differently. In particular, they have a notion of time and priorities other than in the West. It’s up to us to listen to them, to be respectful of their habits and customs, because we are only passing through their homes.

This trip off the beaten track, is not equipped with hotels to international standards, but lodges, similar to some lodgings of the Pyrenees, with sometimes rustic comfort. It always reigns an warm atmosphere. In general, one settles in a common room with a wood stove. In the rooms with 2 single beds there is no heating, the toilets are often rudimentary and outside. Any hot showers as well as recharging the phone or camera batteries are optional, depending on the distance from the villages.
