The Everest Base Camp Trek via Chola pass and Gokyo Lakes, recognized for the series of beautiful turquoise lakes in the Gokyo valley and the famous Cho La Pass, takes us through the landmarks of the Khumbu region in the company of majestically soaring mountains, friendly Sherpas, colorful monasteries, the Namche Bazaar, the Sagarmatha National Park, and, of course, to the base of the mighty Everest.


The trek, in advancing to the base of the world’s tallest mountain, maps out spectacular vistas from such celebrated viewpoints like Gokyo Ri and Kala Patthar. The trek also awards us with great views of the Khumbu Icefall. Trekking to the Gokyo Lakes through Everest Base Camp and Chola Pass, in a nutshell, will be a lifetime experience with the enthralling sights of Mt. Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Amadablam, Pumori, and Dengboche Monastery as the largest monastery from Khumbu region in Nepal.

The itinerary of the trek to Gokyo Lakes via Everest Base camp is ideal for hikers who wish to take up more challenge and “stay off the beaten path” while treading upon remote Nepalese trails. However if you are a novice trekker who is in good health and average physical fitness, this might be right for you. Day 02: Kathmandu–Lukla by flight, trek to Phakding,
Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazar,
Day 04: Acclimatization in Namche,
Day 05: Namche to Dengboche,
Day 06: Dengboche to Dingboche,
Day 07: Acclimatization day,
Day 08: Dingboche to Labuche,
Day 09: Labuche to Gorakse,
Day 10: Gorakse to Kalapatthar-Gorakse-Dzongla,
Day 11: Dzongla to Thanak,
Day 12: Thanak to Gokyo Lake,
Day 13: Gokyo to Gokyo Ri-Gokyo-Dole,
Day 14: Dole to Namche Village,
Day 15: Namche to Lukla,
Day 16: Lukla to Kathmandu,
Day 17: Departure to International Airport.

Day 01: - Arrival at Kathmandu

From the International Airport to the hotel, 1350m altitude, Overnight Hotel with BB

Day 02: - Kathmandu – Lukla by Flight, trek to Phakding

Early morning departure at 5AM, the flight will depart at 6:30, it takes 30 to 40 minutes. You are at 2850m, you start trekking from Lukla to Phakding; 3hrs walk, at altitude 1750m. Overnight in guest house with BB/Dinner

Day 03: - Phakding to Namche Bazar,

Namche is the main salt trading village, on an ancient route to the border between Tibet and Nepal. You walk for 5hrs on the edge of the Duth Koshi River, crossing the suspended bridge you reach Namche village after a 500m climb, altitude 3450m. overnight in Guest house with BB and dinner

Day 04: - Acclimatization in Namche,

After breakfast you hike up to the Everest view point, to visit Khumjung Hillary's School and Khunde Village, and back to Namche. overnight in the same guest house

Day 05: - Namche to Dengboche (3878m) 5hrs walk,

You visit Dengboche monastery around 3pm, view on Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Mt Ama Dablam, Dabuche, Gwandeka. Overnight Guest house with BB/Dinner,

Day 06: - Dengboche to Dingboche (4410m) 5hrs walk,

View of Mt, Amadablam, Thamsherku, Everest, Lhotse, Island Peak, Tabuche peak. Overnight in Guest house with BB/Dinner

Day 07: - Acclimatization Day

You walk slowly, hiking to uphill Nagarthasang Hill (5000m),3hrs way up for the view point, overnight in the same Guest house

Day 08: - Dingboche to Labuche (4910m) 5hrs walk

After lunch, hiking to Italian pyramid and back to Labuche. Overnight in Guest house with BB/Dinner

Day 09: - Labuche to Gorakse (5150m)

After lunch, hiking to Everest Base camp (5364m), 5/6 hrs walk, back to Gorakse; overnight in Guest house, with BB/Dinner

Day 10: - Gorakse to Kalapatther (5554m) Dzongla

To see close view point of Everest And Khumbu Ice-fall (glacier). You return by the same way to Dzongla, (4800m); 5/6hrs walk. Overnight in Guest house with BB/Dinner

Day 11: - Dzongla to Thanak (4700m)

Crossing Chola pass (5368m), 7hrs walk, this day we prepare a pack-lunch. Up and down hill on a high altitude trail. Overnight in Guest house with BB/Dinner

Day 12: - Thanak to Gokyo Lake (4750m) 3hrs walk

via Nagazumba Glacier, and visit the lake in the afternoon. Overnight in Guest house with BB/Dinner

Day 13: - Gokyo to Gokyo Ri (5355m) Dole (4100m) 3hrs walk

You start climbing on early morning, to watch the sunrise on the mountains, with beautiful view points towards Gokyo Ri, Cho-oyu, Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, all above 8000m peaks and Glacier. Back to the same trail to Gokyo. 6hrs walk. Overnight in Guest House with BB/Dinner

Day 14: - Dole to Namche Village (3450m) 6hrs walk,

You descend and up via Mongla and descend again to Sanasa and Namche. Good view point from Mongla if the weather is good. Overnight in Guest house with BB/Dinner

Day 15: - Namche to Lukla (2850M) 7hrs walk,

Up and down via Phakding on the same trail. Overnight in guest House with BB/Dinner

Day 16: - Lukla to Kathmandu

By flight, early morning departure from the Guest house; you spend the day in Kathmandu. But sometimes the weather is bad, so we have to stand by before catching the flight. Overnight in the same Hotel, with BB

Day 17: - Departure to International Airport

We drop you at the airport with our private vehicle.

You May Note: -

It is very difficult to predict the weather in mountain. Because of a bad weather, our flight to and from Lukla may be delayed or cancelled for a day or more. So we would like to request you to add a few extra days to your trip.
